Nachiarkoil kuthuvillakku or nachiarkoil lamp is also known as Annam lamp, is a brass lamp made of a series of diyas originated and made in Nachairkoil in Kumbakonam taluk  in the tanjore district of Tamil Nadu.  It is a fully hand made brass lamp with a customised design. This hollow cast lamp comes in a variety of sizes and is made up of four parts that are screwed together. Generally, the Prabhai is shaped like a hamsa or swan at the apex; it crowns the spire. There may also be lamps made in the form of female figurines holding shallow bowls or in the form of tree branches; the bowls of these lamps have five V-shaped spouts for holding cotton wicks, and oil is used for lighting. South Indian temples use ornamental lamps extensively. All types of shops like dress shops, jewellery shops etc use this  nachiarkoil lamp. functions like marriage, birthday, all types of occasions start with using this nachiarkoil lamp. Government provide the 2 year training for the student craftsman class organised by the Tamil Nadu handcraft corporation ltd, also called poompuhar in Nachairkoil. The artist and craftsmen in kumbakonam are doing this work from the chola dynasty. The nachairkoil lamp made of brass with four parts keezhbagam(base), kandam (post), thanguli (the top wick and oil holders) and Prabhai (crown). The top crown can change to any model like swan, any goddess, etcIt used the material like a wax model. Fire the open space hazards are least concerned. The main component used here is the brown sand which is only available in the place of nachiarkoil. Only that sand has quality that stands with any design what the craftsman wants.  The mixture used in box moulding consists of clay powder in a specific ratio depending on the type of mould used. Other materials used include white dammar, a type of resin obtained from coniferous trees, and castor oil. Cow dung cake is a fuel commonly used for smelting before the metal is poured into the moulds. In order to remove the moulded product easily, parting sand is used. Due to its speed and cost-effectiveness, box-moulding is widely used.
