“Erode Turmeric” or Erode Manjal is a type of turmeric, a spice category which is grown in the Erode region of Tamil Nadu, India. It has been recognized as a Geographical Indication by the India Government. Erode Turmeric have different varieties with different sizes(Margginal, small, medium, Large). Turmeric is one of the major spice crops in Erode District, Tamil Nadu in India.

Turmeric can be grown in a variety of tropical conditions from sea level to 1500 m above sea level, in a temperature range of 20 to 35 °C, with annual precipitation of more than 1500 mm, and under rainy or irrigated conditions.
